UNIQUE PERSPECTIVES
The Whole Person Approach
At Chandler Hall our goal is to support the person in all aspects of living, regardless of physical, emotional, cognitive or social challenges. A person's history, strengths, accomplishments and goals are assessed and an individualized plan is developed incorporating the Whole Person Approach.

The family's role in caring for an individual is highly valued. Chandler Hall welcomes care conferences with participants and their families. Our staff partners with the individual and other involved persons to create a plan as we help the individual to reach their potential.

Chandler Hall's strength is to promote each person's individuality with dignity and respect. Through our process, residents, family and staff have the opportunity to learn and be strengthened as active members of the Chandler Hall community.

Promoting Active Participation In Life
"Nurturing individuality and talents to achieve optimal wellness and performance" is a value that Chandler Hall fulfills in its Center for Life-Long Learning. The highly qualified staff from the Center plan and work with residents to offer new experiences and continue life-long pursuits. The programs and activities are created to be flexible enough to recognize individual health challenges, interests and capabilities. They include visual arts, music, drama, literature, writing, gardening and culinary endeavors. The Center has been designed to allow participants to gather from all areas of campus. Projects vary in content and complexity, affording all residents the opportunity to participate in a way that meets their individual level of interest.

Diversity is incorporated into many programs at Chandler Hall, especially celebrations and holidays. These are wonderful opportunities for residents and staff to join together and share their traditions, stories, artifacts, food and music. "Striving to be both socially accountable and attentive to our relationships in the external community" is another value exemplified by the many service projects that our residents and participants are involved with on a regular basis.

Maintaining and nurturing cognitive and physical abilities is very important to Chandler Hall; helping to promote quality of life. There are appropriate exercise programs in individual residential and participant areas. Aromatherapy is provided to encourage relaxation. Our indoor heated pool and fitness center provide additional fitness opportunities to our campus residents. Programs continue to be developed to meet resident needs.
